The Mangrove Pit Viper
This amazing snake is difficult to find amongst the mangrove routes with its camouflage.

Early morning kayak
Early morning kayak trips in Ao Thalane are just amazing. So quiet.

The Monitor Lizard
Water monitors are everywhere and can grow up to 2 meters in length. The older a monitor gets, the more powerful their jaws become. An adult is capable of breaking human bones. A monitor will not release its prey until it feels it is safe to do so. From my own personal experience, this was over 15 minutes.

Mangrove forest.
Krabi province has 160 square kilometers of healthy mangrove and is recognized as a wetland of international importance.

The Khlong at sunrise, with a low tide.
The sights and sounds coming from the mangrove early in the morning makes it feel like a movie set.

The Sea tree's
These beautiful old mangrove tree's stand waste deep in water when the tide is in.

A view of the Dragon.
In the background, Dragon crest mountain ever watchful over Krabi.

The Dusky leaf monkey.
These beautiful primates are very rare in the Ao Thalane area. You need to listen very carefully if you want to find these quiet animals.

Sunset on the Khlong
Going back home after another amazing day.

The "Grand Canyon"
A 1km unspoiled wonder of the world. This is the quietest place i have ever been. No photo or video can do it justice, just an unforgettable experience.

A hidden beach
Even after all these years, we still find unexpected hidden treasures such as this beach.

Quiet places
Krabi is full of quiet, tourist free beautiful places like this, you just need to go find them.

Lost Lagoons
Ao Thalane has many hidden lakes within the mountains, some can be reached through caves, just like this one.

Before the sunrise
This is my favorite time to be out on the kayak. Not even the fishing boats are out yet and the animals are just waking up.

The mangrove dogs
Despite the remoteness and difficulty of moving around in the mangrove forests, there are some dogs that have chosen it as a safe place for them to live.

Ride alongs
Every now and again we find a stowaway. A long tail macaque grabs a ride to go further into the mangrove to meet up with the fmily.

Shallow waters
The waters around Ao Thalane, and Krabi in general, are very shallow. When the tide is out in Ao Thalane, a large majority of the bay can be walked. This makes for very safe kayaking conditions.

Oriental Pied Honbill
Hornbills are very rare in this area, this is only the second time i have seen them.
